Covid-19 safety information

We have been awarded the official UK mark to show that we follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and have a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

We are delighted to be re-opening our doors again – in line with government guidelines we have taken the necessary precautions to safeguard the welfare of staff and visitors and we hope to open all areas of our attraction including a TAKEAWAY SERVICE in our café, maintaining appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures at all times. We will be implementing one way system around SandWorld.

Children aged 4 and under are FREE, we are wheelchair accessible and dog friendly.

We would advise booking your tickets online and show your ticket booking reference on your arrival, alternatively tickets can be purchased on the gate. *tickets are on sale NOW*

Theme and Sculptures
Due to Coronavirus, work on our sculptures has been restricted. Our new theme is Fantasies and Fairytales and to add to your viewing pleasure and response to public demand we shall have artists turning our tonnes of Weymouth sand into masterpieces at times throughout the season.

Face masks and coverings

Following the latest government guidelines, all guests over the age of 11 are now required to wear a face covering whilst visiting indoor spaces at SandWorld. This includes the entrance, the shop and inside of the marquee, sand art area and the cafe. Face masks are recommended but not required in our outdoor spaces including sandpits.

We recommend you bring your own mask or face covering with you. However, we have a limited numbers of masks for sale in both adult and child sizes. We also have face shields available to purchase.  Children under the age of 11 as well as people with certain health conditions and disabilities are not required to wear face coverings.

Due to Covid-19 we do not have on-site toilets for the visitors. You are welcome to use the off-site public toilet facilities located 50 yards away in the Lodmoor Car Park. You can obtain a stamp for re-entry at the shop.

To maintain social distancing our main sandpit has been sectioned off into ‘Sandpit Bays’ each bay can accommodate up to 4 people, a family of 5-8 will be allocated 2 bays and so on. Sanitised tools will be available but you are welcome to bring your own. Staff are unable to offer hand-on assistance, however we are happy to assist with verbal hints and tips from a safe distance.

For the safety of your little ones, all items in our Under 5’s sandpit have been removed. You can collect sanitised tools from main sandpit, purchase them from the shop or you are welcome to bring in your own tools.

We ask that children are accompanied at all times to maintain social distancing. Please use sanitiser before and at regular intervals whilst visiting the sandpits

During very busy times we may restrict numbers to keep our visitors and staff safe.
