what’s here
Sandworld is a place to marvel at the most amazing sculptures made entirely from sand and water. World class sand masters from around the globe have created these unique pieces of art ranging from 2 to 5 metres high. It is an art gallery with a difference.
The main exhibits will be show cased in the huge all weather marquee. Here you can meander past neck craning, jaw dropping sand masterpieces. New sculptures are added each year, replacing the previous years works as the season progresses. For 2012, the theme is Ancient Greece and the Olympics, with special features on topical themes such as the Queens Diamond Jubilee.
You can race around in 10 minutes if you like, but we encourage people to stroll around the sculptures several times, as each time you will discover something new. We have visitors returning every single week in 2011 and this year have introduced a season ticket to encourage people to visit again and again.
Take time to learn more about the artists and search for the hidden sand dragons. You may win a sweet surprise if you find them all!!
Refresh and relax in the coffee shop or spend some time in the activity area, where you can fill your own sand bottle or at other times create your own sand art (extra charge for some activities).
Outside, under a canopy cover, the giant sand pit offers everyone the chance to have a go themselves having been inspired by what they have seen, with ideas boards, tools and sometimes even an international master on hand to help.
There are picnic tables, icecreams and a small shop selling good value items.
Finally, take time to vote for your favourite sand sculpture and sign our visitors book.
